Lanzarote short breaks in a Private Lanzarote Villa, long weekend breaks, 3 nights, 4 nights

Posted on June 7, 2011 at 1:00 PM Comments comments ()

Lanzarote short breaks in a Private Lanzarote Villa, long weekend breaks, 4 nights

After many requests from our guests we have decided to now offer

Lanzarote Short breaks, shorter than the week, 7 day stay.

In this recession it seems many guests do not book ahead, but often go for that long needed break, at the last minute.

A break in between work commitments cannot always be the whole week, 7 nights.

If available, we will now offer, by arrangement short Lanzarote breaks, from 3 nights.

We will still offer a welcome pack, and still arrange the cleaning, preparation, the clean towels & bed linen etc

We will see how popular this new offer is, and hope this may be of interest to our many holiday break & business guests

May 2012 Lanzarote May Holidays

Posted on May 7, 2011 at 5:26 AM Comments comments ()

May is a beautiful Month in Lanzarote. May Flights are often reasonably priced. There is also the Lanzarote Ironman Triathlon in May. Average weather in Lanzarote in May 25º

If you are looking for a week spent horizontal, sunbathing, Lanzarote is the place to be. With a sunshine record that would make most other places turn green with envy, this Island gem offers up some sun!

However, Lanzarote is not all about sunbathing, swimming pools and beaches. Although guests arrive here to laze around the swimming pool and visit the beaches, there's more to this sun-drenched island than just sunbathing. Lanzarote, created from fiery eruptions. Extreme volcanic, dramatic peaks, solidified lava streams and mysterious rock sculptures tell of a violent volcanic past. Visit and take in the landscape of Timanfaya National Park. A holiday in Lanzarote is probably the closest thing you'll get to a visit to the moon!

Lanzarote is a small Island and nowhere is very far away. Consider staying in a spacious Rural Villa with a heated pool, centrally ideally, ideally situated to visit the real Lanzarote. Set away from the tourist resorts, but still only 10 minutes drive to beautiful beaches and Costa Teguise restaurants and bars. 5 minutes drive to the old capital of Teguise. 12 minutes to Famara Beaches.

Lanzarote Spring Onions

Posted on March 30, 2011 at 11:20 AM Comments comments ()

Lanzarote has many good vegetables, but Spring Onions are not abundant in Lanzarote

A little tip. If you have some old sprouting onions. Do not throw them away!

Place the onion in a little pot in the kitchen, and cut the shoots as they grow.

Chop them up and scatter on Salads and Hot dishes, or use in stir fries as you would Spring Onions

Onion sprouts are actually miniature scallions. Shoots are basically the plants that grow above the soil and the onion sprouts are one among the most popular species of shoots. The onion sprouts basically have the same taste like the mature onion and the same specific odor. The onion sprouts have a very rich and nutritional content. The onion sprouts are full of vitamins A, B, C and E and the quantity of calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium and zinc.!  Besides these, the onion sprouts are very rich in proteins. Due to its important nutrients and vitamins, onion sprouts are healthy aliments, which can be used in many recipes.

Little Lanzarote Tips !

Posted on March 30, 2011 at 10:59 AM Comments comments ()

USE BOTTLE TOPS to seal a bag

Look how simple this is.....

WHAT A GREAT IDEA. NO MORE TWIST TIES OR RUBBER BANDS.

WATER PROOF AND AIR TIGHT.

Cut up a disposable water bottle and keep the neck and top, as in photo.

Insert the plastic bag through the neck and screw the top to seal.

The bag is made to be air-tight, water will not leak,

The secret lies with the top and screw cap!

This is a great idea to share.

Good for the environment too.

All you need to do is cut off the top of the bottle

and take off the cap.

Push the bag through the bottle neck,

fold it over the edges, and twist the cap back on.

Now, your bag has an air and water tight seal

Ideal for dry storage and for the freezer.

Lanzarote All Inclusive, is it a good idea ?

Posted on August 29, 2010 at 2:22 PM Comments comments ()

Will they Shoot me ?

The all inclusive in Lanzarote is it a great idea ?

In this recent recession we all need innovative ideas.

But this idea does not encourage visitors to venture out and experience the real Lanzarote.

Most large hotels have honoured the all inclusive philosophy and offer great value.

However, that means the visitors have a great holiday, but do not venture away from the hotel

and therefore never really visit Lanzarote and expierience yje joy of its friendly Canarian people.

Some large hotels have disappointed their guests, and the guests have to venture out locally

Already peeved that they have been duped by the all inclusive dream.

They do not have Car hire, they did not intend to - So they walk and visit a local bar .

Sometimes they are pleasantly surprised, Sometime they are greeted by a grumpy., suffering local owner that has been totally annihilated by the all inclusive idea

This owner maybe Local Canarian, Mainland Spanish, English or German ( or another nationality )

Many local bars & restaurants have suffered during this recent recession.

Will all this kill & stifle the very breath of the real Lanzarote ?

If no one ventures away from the all inclusive, what will be left in the future ?

The very beauty of visiting the small family bars and restaurants. The very heart if the Island

Let us please never lose Lanzarote Island to the big boys

That could kill the very heart and soul that I have loved since my first visit over 25 years ago

I am sure there are many that have loved the old Lanzarote heart I write of for Longer than me.

Or even the many that have only just discovered its special quality, but still understand my concern and questions.

Lets all remember, in any country, or especially an Island

The base blocks are set with the hard working resident history of that place

The banks and money men play around with the very money that has been created by the hard working hearts

Peculiarly, I am not a socialist, If anything, If I must be labelled, I am a self employed worker,

a square peg in a round hole; and do not want to see the demise of our kind.

We all add a lot of cement to those base blocks !

I post this as a thought

A question. Am I rattling a few cages ?
